(A1) - Unlock codes (aka restriction codes) are a series of numbers and characters which can be entered into your Nokia mobile phone via the phones keypad to remove the network restriction and allow the use of other network Sim cards.

Another advantage is that the value of your Nokia handset could increase. Mobile phones which are unlocked tend to have a greater second-hand value. (A5) - We use only the very latest hardware and software to generate unlock codes (restriction codes) for your Nokia phone. Both the hardware and software used are frequently updated to make sure that the correct codes are generated for your Nokia phone. The codes are calculated using the information you provide on our secure order form.

(A6) - For some phone models you will receive two unlock codes (restriction codes) along with concise easy-to-follow code entry instructions, however for other phone models you will receive only one unlock code (restriction code).

(A7) - If your Nokia phone has been subject to previous unlock attempts with codes or via cable, you may not be successfull with the codes we provide. Unlocks.co.uk advise all customers that they should not order unlock codes (restriction codes) from unlocks.co.uk if there is a possibility the phone has been subject to a previous unlock attempt.

(A8) - If you have been supplied with two codes, you may need to enter both codes to fully unlock the handset. Full details are provided with your codes.
(Q9) - Should I be cautious about giving out my IMEI/Serial number? {Back To The Top}
(A9) - Your IMEI/Serial number is unique to your Nokia phone; no other phone has the same number. However, this number has nothing to do with your phone account or your Sim card. Therefore, you can be safe in the knowledge that the only thing we can do with your IMEI/Serial number is generate your unlock codes (restriction codes).
(Q10) - Why do you charge only £4.50 when most others are charging over £7.00? {Back To The Top}
(A10) - A number of factors were taken into consideration when we chose a price for our service. We wanted to ensure that we could offer a top class service without compromising on quality or customer service and we believe that our price of £4.50 allows us to achieve all of these objectives. We cannot understand or explain why many other services charge much more!
(Q11) - Is Nokia mobile phone unlocking illegal? {Back To The Top}
(A11) - Unlocking a Nokia mobile phone so that it will accept alternative network Sim cards is NOT illegal in the UK. All mobile phones are manufactured to accept any Sim card. The 'network restriction' which is placed on a Nokia mobile phone is added by the networks to try and prevent you from using the phone on a competing network. 'Unlocking' resets this lock to the manufacturer default of 'off', thus allowing the use of a alternative network Sim cards. Please read our Is Unlocking Illegal? page for further details.
(Q12) - What about contract phones? {Back To The Top}
(A12) - If you obtained your phone on a contract, you should consider that the phone remains the property of the network until you have completed your 12 month contract. Unlocking your Nokia phone while under contract may be a breach of your contract. You may wish to check with your contract supplier to see if unlocking is prohibited before purchasing unlock codes (restriction codes) from unlocks.co.uk.

(A13) - As with any electrical item you purchase, your warranty is only valid when the item has been used in accordance with it's specified purpose, and not modified or altered in any way. Unlocking your Nokia phone could be deemed as a modification or an alteration and may void your warranty.

(A14) - You will enter the supplied code(s) into your Nokia phone and the phone will display a message. This message will determine whether or not the unlock attempt has been successful.
(Q15) - How many times can I enter unlock codes (restriction codes) into my Nokia phone? {Back To The Top}
(A15) - Most Nokia phones will allow a maximum of five (5) code entry attempts, however some Nokia handsets will allow a maximum of only three (3) code entry attempts. If you reach the maximum number of code entry attempts for your particular Nokia phone model, this method of unlocking will become unavailable, and you will need to have your Nokia phone unlocked using a cable solution.

(A16) - If all attempts to enter your code(s) fail, you should use the appropriate Contact Form to contact us. If it is necessary, and depending on further information, we may generate more codes for your Nokia phone and send them to you via e-mail.
(Q17) - What happens if I have failed to follow the correct procedure for entering the codes? {Back To The Top}
(A17) - If you do not enter the codes into your Nokia phone correctly, the phone will not unlock. This is why it is very important that you follow our instructions EXACTLY as detailed! We cannot accept responsibility or liability for any phones which are damaged or suffer loss of service due to an incorrect unlock procedure!
(Q18) - What happens if the unlock codes (restriction codes) don't work the second time? {Back To The Top}
(A18) - If you were supplied new codes because the information submitted originally was incorrect, we cannot guarantee that the new codes or any further codes will successfully unlock the handset because the handset has been subject to the entry of incorrect codes. In these circumstances you will need to have the phone unlocked with a cable solution!
(Q19) - What happens if I send you the details of a blocked, barred or blacklisted Nokia phone? {Back To The Top}
(A19) - The chances are that the phone may become completely un-useable after entering the codes. We cannot accept any responsibility or liability for damage or loss of service on a phone which is blocked, barred or blacklisted!

(Q21) - Can you unlock other phones? {Back To The Top}
(A21) - We can only provide unlock codes (restriction codes) for the Nokia handsets displayed on our Supported Phones page. However, we have now introduced a new 'Postal Unlocking' service supporting Nokia phones that cannot be unlocked by code and many other phone makes including Samsung, Sony-Ericsson, Motorola, Sagem, Siemens and many more!

(A22) - Obviously, if there has been a problem unlocking your Nokia phone using the codes we provide, we will endeavor to solve the problem to the best of our ability. However, we cannot provide any kind of technical advice related to any matter other than unlocking your Nokia phone with our codes.
