Mobile Phone Sim Unlock by Code
There is quite a lot of confusion surrounding the term Sim Unlock. The confusion comes from the word 'Sim' because many think they have to somehow unlock the sim card so that alternative networks can be used in a mobile phone. In fact, the term 'Sim Unlock' has nothing to do with unlocking the sim card. The term actually comes from another term - 'Simlock'. Most mobile phones have an active simlock, this is a network restriction that prevents the use of alternative network sim cards. In order to de-activate this network restriction a 'Sim Unlock' procedure must be performed.
