Cannot Undo Restriction - Not Allowed

The Cannot Undo Restriction or Not Allowed error will occur if you attempt unlocking your Nokia mobile phone with an unlock code. But what does this error mean and, more importantly, is there anything you can do about it?

What Does Cannot Undo Restriction and Not Allowed Mean?

All Nokia mobile phones will allow only a certain number of unlock code entry attempts (some will allow 5 and some will allow only 3). Once the limit has been reached, the phone will return a Cannot Undo Restriction or Not Allowed error if any further unlock codes are entered. In simple terms, this error means that your Nokia phone can no longer be unlocked by code. However, there may be a way to overcome the Cannot Undo Restriction and Not Allowed problem!

How To Overcome The Cannot Undo Restriction or Not Allowed Error!

The solution I will share with you has been tested successfully by myself on a number of Nokia mobile phones that displayed either Cannot Undo Restriction or Not allowed, however I offer no guarantee and the use of this solution is entirely at your own risk. Here is what you will need to proceed;

This solution will absolutely NOT work if you do not have the correct unlock code. If you have the correct unlock code and you are ready to proceed, here's what you need to do next;

  1. Power on your phone without a sim card. You should be prompted to 'Start Phone Without SIM Card' or similar. Click 'Accept' or 'OK'. Your phone is now in offline mode.

  2. Connect your Nokia phone to the PC using the USB Cable. Your phone will display several options - you should select 'PC Suite Mode' or 'Nokia Mode'.

  3. Start the SendCodeUsb application you downloaded earlier and click on the 'Read Phone Info' button. The application should display several lines of information.

  4. If the application displays 'Not Found', your USB Cable Drivers are not correctly installed. In this case you will need to uninstall, then re-install the USB Cable Drivers. This procedure will not work unless the drivers are correctly installed. Trying an alternative USB Port may also help. DO NOT move on to the next step until you have successfully installed the USB Cable Drivers and the software can read the information from the phone.

  5. Now make sure you check the 'Check For Fbus' checkbox. Also make sure the 'Level(1-7)' selection is set to 1.

  6. Enter Only The Numbers of the correct unlock code into the 'Unlock Code (15 digits)' field (e.g. if your correct unlock code was #pw+123456789012345+1# you would enter only 123456789012345 in this field).

  7. Click on the 'Send Unlock Code' button. The application should confirm that your Nokia phone is now unlocked.

Now, if you power on your Nokia mobile phone with an alternative network sim card, it should operate as normal. Remember, I offer no guarantee that this solution will work for your Nokia phone and you use this solution entirely at your own risk. This solution will absolutely NOT work if you do not have the correct unlock code. If you found this information useful, please link to this page and let others know about it!
